Get a Kick Out of the Beaches in St. Kitts

You’ve heard of Beach Volleyball, but have you ever played Beach Soccer? The St Kitts Nevis Football Association has added a new element to the beautiful game, and is striving to introduce their sandy variation on football to the Federation. Representatives from the SKNFA held a seminar in the Bahamas in October to introduce the new sport and its rules and regulations.

For sports fans who own real estate in St. Kitts, or who are thinking of relocating to the Caribbean Island, beach soccer offers the potential for lots of fun in the sun. The game can be played by people of all ages, and it makes for great physical activity. The St. Kitts Nevis Football Association has organized a Beach Soccer High School Festival for December, where you can give the new sport a go. Starting in January 2011, clubs and other such sport organizations will have the opportunity to learn how to play the game and get involved.

Beach soccer is played very differently than association football, because the soft and irregular sand playing surface changes the way that the players can move around the pitch.
Beach soccer even has its own World Cup! St. Kitts is applying to qualify to host the next Beach Soccer World Cup, which would be great fun for residents and others who own real estate in St. Kitts.
